Austin City Limits is just a couple flips on the calendar away. This year's inaugural two-weekend run on October 4 to 6 and 11 to 13 also features a series of late-night shows in Austin. And a run of bands from somewhere on the lineup in other Texas cities, including Houston and Dallas.
Most of the shows here in Dallas are being presented by someone other than C3 Presents, the group that puts together ACL. It's a little disingenuous for C3 to use the words "official" and "ACL" in the same sentence to describe any of those, because it's actually someone else's money on the line. On the other hand, most of these bands probably wouldn't be in Texas in the first place if it weren't for ACL. So think of our portion of this list as mostly a collection of shows featuring the ACL lineup in Dallas. Either way, it is a damned impressive run -- here:
