Tyler’s last Dallas show was part of his Call Me If You Get Lost Tour and was marked by eye-catching pastels and lavish set pieces that spanned multiple stages. The experience was nothing short of cinematic.
“Tyler’s name deserves to be mentioned next to Wes Anderson and other rappers, especially given how his rapping was accompanied by such dramatic flair,” our critic wrote at the time. “He also rekindled his early hip-hop roots in front of a stage design consisting of a mansion and a vintage Rolls Royce with a matching teal color scheme, making the entire set visually evocative of Anderson’s trademark cinematography.
If what we know of his upcoming LP, Chromokopia, is anything to go off, this upcoming tour will take a drastically darker direction. The playful color palette and whimsical visuals have been swapped out for monochromatic tones and a hairstyle resembling devil horns.
Tyler has spent his entire career in a constant state of artistic evolution, upping the ante with every era. So, we’re looking forward to meeting this new side of him (and kicking off the concert season with a bang) at the American Airlines Center in Dallas this spring.
