A few months ago, we did a lot of talking about Doug Burr.
He’d just released his newest record, O Ye Devastator, which is possibly the best of his already shining discography. So it was a little surprising to see an email this morning announcing Doug Burr’s album release at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening at Good Records. Huh?
Well, turns out that Burr is releasing O Ye Devastator on 12″ vinyl as a follow-up to the previous compact disc and digital release the album saw. And that should make Burr enthusiasts excited–hearing this warmly-recorded record in such a warm-sounding format should make for quite the treat.
As for the rest of us, it’ll just be cool to have the keepsake of an album that already earned it’s place on our Best Local Album Releases of 2010…So Far. And to top it off, the newest band to sign with local booking agency and record label Spune Productions, San Francisco’s Birds & Batteries, will be opening the show. Oh, and, by the way, the whole thing is free to attend.
