Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.
Pretty much any idea for a Tumblr page is a good one. Case in point: The person who simply posts every Alan Palomo image they can find.
But, OK, this one is really is a great one. Called Fuck Yeah Rock GIFs, the site, created by local music fan and photographer Neff Conner, compiles various shots he's taken at live shows in recent memory and re-appropriates them as animated .gif files -- like the file you see above, of Old 97's frontman Rhett Miller performing his patented "half-Townshend" guitar move during a June 3, 2010, solo performance at the Belmont Hotel.
Just a phenomenal concept all around -- and one that's still in its earliest stages. To date, Conner's posted ten of these animated files to his site, although, he promises, "There's more to come." We hope so. In the meantime, with Conner's permission, we've posted a few more of our favorite .gifs of his after the jump for your viewing pleasure.

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
