Just went back and listened to the Sea and Cake’s 1995 album The Biz, and it’s sort of impressive how intricate their sound already was just three albums in. The guitar interplay between Sam Prekop and Archer Prewitt remains their foundation, however the music has changed over the past 20 years. And yes, that they’ve been around for two decades will certainly send folks of a certain age into an existential panic.
