The thing about the Baptist Generals is that they are one of the most inventive local bands for a thousand miles in any direction. Truly. Listen to 2003's No Silver/No Gold for some sort of example, and then listen to these two tracks off of Jackleg Devotional to the Heart, due to be released at the end of May.

It's their first album in ten years, and it's a big deal. Couple this with the fact that they are the definitive Denton supergroup, composed of musicians the likes of Paul Slavens, Ryan Williams, Jason Reimer, Peter Salisbury, etc.; all of them completing a package in mostly dreamed up by DFW artistic visionary Chris Flemmons.
