Lil Baby brought his WHAM World Tour to the American Airlines Center on June 5, and fans showed up and out for the show.
The WHAM World Tour supports Lil Baby's January album WHAM which featured the Young Thug comeback track "Dum, Dumb, and Dumber." As concertgoers slowly fill the arena, the DJ gets the crowd going with an array of current rap hits. The crowd is eager to get involved, but their excitement halts to anticipate the arrival of the first performer, Philadelphia rapper Shaun Sloan, as the lights dim. Following Sloan’s heartfelt last song, the DJ brought back the energy, which motivates any stragglers roaming AAC to run to their seats to investigate the commotion.
Florida rapper Loe Shimmy delivered his metallic melodies through his raspy vocals. New Orleans rapper Rob49’s set and his baritone voice cut through, with the energy now at an all-time high after “WTHELLY.” The room was booming, full of life with singing, dancing and excitement. As everyone waited for the moment until Lil Baby arrived, a line started to form as fans noticed Fort Worth's own hip-hop personality, Charleston White, in attendance. Bystanders were visibly impressed with White as he greeted every person and took every photo. The lights slowly dim and the crowd erupts, however, in between cheers, a tall, dark figure moves through the crowd to VIP. James Harden was in the building.
As the night starts to become a star-studded event, Lil Baby graces the stage with pyro and red lighting to set the tone for an explosive performance. A party erupted, and no one was harder than him.
