In the wake of yesterday's free CD announcement, Trent Reznor's gone ahead and booked a tour that will take Nine Inch Nails to the American Airlines Center on August 18.

Looks like a promising one, too; the opening act on the bill is A Place to Bury Strangers, who we caught and raved about in our SXSW coverage. Tickets to the show--ranging from $29.50 to $54.50 in cost--go on sale at 5 p.m. on Friday. Get 'em at LiveNation.com, ticketmaster.com or by phone at 214-373-8000 and 972-647-5700. --Pete Freedman

Update: Here's a bonus mp3 for those of you too lazy to go ahead and download The Slip from NIN's site:

Nine Inch Nails -- "Echoplex"

Might make you wanna go download the whole thing.

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
