We could have picked any place to spend New Year's Eve; we chose to spend it with Tripping Daisy.

New Year's Eve is one of those nights that requires a plan.  Maybe that means staying home, or heading uptown to some fancy bar that requires the kind of clothes you can't afford.  Regardless, you need a plan — and a designated driver, or at least an up-to-date Uber account.

We had a plan. A good plan, even if it did involve Deep Ellum on the craziest night of the year. We headed to Trees to see one of our all-time favorite bands from Dallas: Tripping Daisy.

And we had fun kicking 2024 to the curb, bouncing balloons around and picking confetti from our drinks. (The fact that Rosegarden Funeral Party was playing just across the street at Three Links didn't hurt either)

Great night, great music and great friends old and new. We have the pictures to prove it. So long, 2024. With a few  exceptions, you won't be missed. This night was one of those exceptions: the last night of the year, with Tripping fucking Daisy.
