Lead Lemonhead Evan Dando has no problems performing under the name of the band that made him an indie-rock hero. “I love the liquid aspect. It keeps it fresh,” he says. Keeping the sounds of his past vibrant seems to be the order of the day: The current version of the Lemonheads is touring behind Laughing All the Way to the Cleaners, a new 47-song retrospective, as they perform the group’s beloved 1992 album, It’s a Shame About Ray, in its entirety. In fact, Dando wants to continue to dig into the past in the future: “Just wait until our Car Button Cloth tour.”
