With 200 of Dallas County's 708 precincts reporting, Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez maintains her lead over challenger Lowell Cannaday: 313,083 (or 56.24 percent of the vote) to 243,632 (43.76 percent). Sam's with the Republicans and will have more comments and photos from the GOP un-shindig shortly -- only, as he told me 10 seconds ago, Cannaday still hasn't shown. And he was due at the Radisson at 8:15 p.m. But, hey, NBC just called Texas for McCain. So there's that. --Robert Wilonsky
