Contrary to what’s been reported elsewhere, the Citizens Against the Taxpayer-Owned Hotel party at Tucker on Ross Avenue is, in fact, open to the press and public. Matter of fact, not only is Merten on hand for the gathering, but so too are KXAS-Channel 5’s Ken Kalthoff and Trey Garrison — and, for that matter, Mitchell Rasansky and Gary Griffith were also spotted walking through the door moments ago. Also present, of course, Harlan Crow, who’ll speak to Unfair Park shortly, and Lucy Billingsley. Says Sam of the mood at Tucker: “When it’s 50-50, everybody’s optimistic.”
