Speaking of former owners of the Texas Rangers …
Don’t know if you’ve seen it, as it’s only been viewed 267 times in the past month, but Tom Schieffer’s campaign has posted to Vimeo a howdy-do in which he surrounds himself with pictures of and books about former presidents in order to appear so very gubernatorial. There’s also a Tom for Texas Web site, which is all but empty, save for a link to a June 28 campaign kick-off and fund-raiser out in Azle at Meto and Virginia Miteff’s lake house.
But a Friend of Unfair Park sends word that one week from today, matter of fact, Schieffer will officially become a Democratic candidate for governor of Texas with an official announcement planned in Fort Worth — to be held in front of his old elementary school, matter of fact. That’s just adorable. Also, very mayoral campaign-sounding.
