Where to Find Discounted and Free Food for Teacher Appreciation Week

Being a teacher can be tough, especially when the school year is wrapping up. Teachers deserve to have a break from grading and tests, even if it is just for a week. Teacher Appreciation Week starts next week on Monday, May 5, through Friday, May 9, and many local restaurants have come together to recognize the hard work teachers and school staff do by offering discounts and free food.

The following is a list of businesses participating in Teacher Appreciation Week in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Sonic
All Locations
Teachers love Sonic. Crunching ice must relieve stress in some way. From May 5-9, teachers who are part of the Sonic Teachers' Circle Rewards program can get a free snack or side with purchase (get the pretzel twist!), enjoy a buy one Sonic Blast, get one free, or get a quarter-pound double cheeseburger for just $1.99.

Teachers can stop by RaceTrac on their sliver of a lunch break or before school for a free medium coffee every day this week at RaceTrac. You have to verify you're a teacher through their app or on online at RaceTracTeachers.com to receive daily coupons for the free coffee. The work never ends, right?

On Wednesday, May 7, teachers (and nurses) who show their valid ID or badge can buy one burger and get one free all day.

Insomnia Cookies

Teachers can take advantage of a buy-one, get-one-free offer on classic cookies at Insomnia Cookies when they show a valid ID.

Raising Canes

La Madeleine

On May 6, head to La Madeleine and take advantage of a buy-one, get-one bakery item. No ID is required for this awesome perk. Just retrieve the offer through La Madeleine's  Bonjour Rewards app.

From Sunday to Tuesday next week, Shipley Do-Nuts wants to celebrate the heroes in our lives. Teachers can receive a free half-dozen doughnuts when visiting. You don't need to make a purchase, but you do have to join their rewards program.

Hat Creek Burger Co.

On Tuesday, May 6, Hat Creek Burger Co. is offering teachers a free Little Hat Burger to all school staff. Teachers and school staff must show a valid school ID to receive the offer. Whataburger will celebrate teachers from Monday to Friday by offering free breakfast entrées. Whether it’s a honey butter chicken biscuit or something else, indulge in a complimentary breakfast and treat yourself every day of the week. This offer is only available in-restaurant; just present a valid school ID when ordering for dine-in, drive-thru or takeout.

Chipotle

Chipotle is giving out free entrées from Monday through Friday. Starting now, teachers verified through ID.me will receive free entrée e-gift cards. Visit teacherthanks.chipotle.com, enter the required information and confirm your employment status within 48 hours to receive a free entrée e-card.

Chick-fil-A

Each Chick-fil-A celebrates differently, so check your local restaurant to see what Teacher Appreciation Week perks it is offering. For the Redbird location, on Thursday, May 1, check out @chickfilaredbird on Instagram to enter a social media giveaway; more details will be provided later. On Monday, use a teacher badge to get a free original sandwich with the purchase of a side from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

McAlister's Deli
