The amazingly popular fusion spot hasn't always been easy to get into. That will soon change.

Cris and John's has been teasing a new location on its Instagram page.

Cristina Mendez and John Pham opened this restaurant in a tight strip mall with a cozy parking lot in 2017. The fusion of Vietnamese and Mexican flavors served here landed this spot on our list of Top 100 restaurants in Dallas. It's also one of our favorite places to take out-of-town guests to showcase Dallas' diverse flavors.

The casual yet always-packed restaurant in North Dallas, located on Preston Oaks Road, might be best known for its $30 weekly special: They pack enough food for two onto a big platter that is a mix of whatever culinary vibes they're feeling that week. In early April, that included a phorrito (pho wrapped in a large tortilla), ramenrito, loaded fries and birria tacos with angry pho consomme.

More recently, they touted bo kho chilaquiles and spicy pho birria taco plates. Yeah, we're both excited and scared, too.

One minor complaint some fans may have about this wonderful, locally owned spot (aside from being closed on Saturdays and Mondays) is the limited parking spaces nearby. It's in a busy small strip, and everyone wants some. Sigh. Parking.

According to a new Instagram post, this spring, they're gifting Dallas more parking spaces, "a ton" in fact.

The new restaurant space recently passed some important city inspections and expects to move "8 minutes" north to Preston Road. We'll keep you posted on further updates.
