As summer is getting closer — and the grass gets greener — we're looking forward to spring and summertime beers. Luckily, the Dallas craft beer scene is as vibrant and interesting as ever. But why take our word on it? We asked a handful of Dallas brewers what local beer they're looking forward to the most this late spring and early summer. Here's our first edition of "pass the pint."

Michael Peticolas

Peticolas Brewing
Peticolas is one of the original breweries in Dallas, one of a pack that led the burgeoning craft beer scene a little over a decade ago. The Design District brewery has a spartan space, and most emphasis is put on beers, like its iconic game-changing Velvet Hammer, Imperial Red Ale and tasty Golden Opportunity.

Michael Peticolas, founder of Peticolas Brewing, is looking forward to Vector Brewing's Penn Pals, a West Coast Pilsner brewed in honor of Chris Penn, owner of Good Records, a fixture in the local music scene. He died on April 23 after suffering a tragic fall. From Vector's website: "Bright and floral, with nods of fresh lemongrass, citron, and honeydew, this clean and refreshing beer finishes with a pleasingly bitter bite."

You can find Penn Pals at Vector in four packs and on tap.

Cody Martin

Martin House Brewing
Martin House Brewing in Fort Worth might be best known for its inventive beers, such as Best Maid Sour Pickle Beer and Key Lime Pie Sour Ale with Graham Cracker, but founder Cody Martin is a humble IPA kind of imbiber.

He's most excited about "whatever hazy IPA Celestial is gonna be putting out this summer." He's also looking forward to Turning Point's Sportz, a fruit-punch electrolyte-infused sports beer.

Matt Reynolds

Celestial Beerworks
The quirky Celestial Beerworks sits a wee bit south of Love Field and offers a great space to hang out, especially if you like hazy IPAs. Co-founder Matt Reynolds is "pumped" to sip on some Tmavé Pivo 13° made by Vector Brewing.

"It’s a dark Czech lager, which might not sound like a summer beer, but it’s clean, crispy and intricate. The beer definitely qualifies a 'brewer’s beer.' It really hits the spot," Reynolds says.

Craig Bradley

Vector Brewing
Craig Bradley at Vector Brewing, a family-friendly brewery in the Lake Highlands, is looking forward to ODD Muse Brewing’s Strawberry Hustle.

"It’s a Munich-style Helles lager with a kiss of strawberry. Super crushable and not too sweet, it’s a great summertime sip. I love my lagers, and typically I don’t lean towards fruited styles unless they’re done right. The fellas at OM nail this one," Bradley says.

Bobby Diaz

ODD Muse Brewing Company
ODD Muse, located in Farmers Branch, has a robust menu of beers from dark options to fruity-juicy numbers. Owner and head brewer Bobby Diaz is looking forward to a pint from False Idol Brewing in North Richland Hills, which was named 2025 Brewery of the Year at the Texas Craft Brewers Cup.

"Groovy is a 7% saison with cucumber, lime and basil. I'm really excited about this one! They are crushing it with the saisons these days and this one sounds perfect for summer! Just thinking about it is making my mouth water," says Daiz and we're thinking "samesies."

Dominique Van Ausdall

False Idol Brewing
False Idol Brewing sits between Dallas and Fort Worth in North Richland Hills and has quickly become a craft beer beacon since opening during the pandemic. In a previous article, writer Chris Zimmerman noted the beer options here are balanced, adding that while it's "easy to specialize in one style, it's hard to find a place that has something for everyone."

Founder Dominique Van Ausdall is excited to try Celestial's new session IPA, Corporate Estate, which will be released this summer. It is made with Cascade and Comet hops from Oregon and has a 4.8% ABV.

It's a big circle of beer life out there. Let's all have a pint and hug.
