Naples native and master pizzaiolo Dino Santonicola opened Partenope Ristorante in downtown Dallas in 2019. Since then, he and his wife have been steadfast in spreading their passion for Italian cuisine, and it hasn't gone unnoticed.
This week, Partenope was ranked as the 17th best Pizza in the U.S.A. by 50 Top Pizza, a group of more than 150 Italian food and beverage journalists who travel the world in search of the best pizza. Rankings are based on pizza, service, atmosphere, wait times, wine, beer and beverages.
This is the fifth year in a row that Partenope has been listed in the top 20: No. 25 in 2021, No. 17 in 2022, No. 16 in 2023, and No. 12 in 2024. This year it ranks No. 17.
Last year, the journalist who covered Partenope praised the perfect Neapolitan dough on the pizzas and said the Neapolitan Calzone was a small masterpiece. P.S. It still is.
This year, the most appreciated pizzas were the Gennarino, the Napoli Centrale, the classic Margherita and the Montanara, which is fried and baked.
"The service is attentive and dynamic, the restaurant is well-kept and welcoming. A solid and identity-affirming stop that has brought Neapolitan pizza to the heart of Texas, with consistency and quality recognized nationally," they wrote on Partenope's award page.
The East Coast, namely New York, swept up quite a few of the top 20 spots. First place was awarded to Una Pizza Napoletana in New York. Partenope was the only pizzeria in Texas to make the list this year.
