Rahr and Sons Brewing Company announced on Instagram Sunday evening that it's getting a little too big for its lederhosen. The Fort Worth craft brewer has "surpassed the capability of our current location" and is searching for a new home.

Rahr and Sons is the work of Frederick "Fritz" Rahr, who honed his brewing chops at the Siebel Institute in Germany after graduating from Texas Christian University. Rahr officially started brewing in 2004, years before most current Dallas breweries got hopping, creating a craft beer culture based on samples and weekend runs. (Who remembers when breweries could only give out "samples?")

Rahr has long since established itself as an anchor tenant in bars across North Texas with popular styles like the Blonde Lager, Rahr's Red, Iron Thistle and Ugly Pug. Winter Warmer is a popular seasonal brew.

In the Instagram post, Rahr assures its following that its beers will still be brewed by the same crew in Fort Worth and that as it looks to expand, the availability of beers in restaurants, bars, and stores will "remain uninterrupted."

Per the announcement, the tap room will remain open until May 17 with regular operating days and hours.

We reached out to Rahr about the anticipated timeline for a new brewery and have yet to hear back. If we do, we'll update you.
