The Chicago-based Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants team that created the Windy City Smokeout is bringing a three-day country music and barbecue festival to North Texas. The festival will have an all-star lineup of pitmasters from across the state and nation, as well as country music performances, retail pop-ups and sponsor events.

The 2025 pitmaster participants include a lineup of James Beard and Michelin-recognized barbecue spots in Texas. Fourteen highly esteemed pitmasters will be featured, 10 being Texas and four from beyond the Red River.

To be more specific on the local offerings, Michelin-recommended Panther City BBQ from Fort Worth will be one of the North Texas names featured at the festival.

Two-time James Beard-nominated and Michelin-recommended 2M Smokehouse from San Antonio and two-time James Beard semifinalist Curry Boys BBQ from San Antonio are set to join in on the meaty fun as well.

Other local spots include:
  • Dayne’s Craft Barbeque, Aledo
  • Slow Bone BBQ, Dallas
  • The Original Roy Hutchins Barbeque, Trophy Club
  • Hurtado Barbecue, Arlington
  • The Original Black’s BBQ, Lockhart
  • The Salt Lick BBQ, Driftwood
  • Rossler’s Blue Cord Barbecue, Harker Heights
Representing out-of-state are Little Miss BBQ from Phoenix, Arizona, Wright’s Barbecue from Fayetteville, Arkansas, Meat Mitch Barbecue from Leawood, Kansas, and Pappy’s Smokehouse from St. Louis, Missouri.

Smokeout cofounder Ed Warm has assembled a choice musical lineup for Texas with some performers that have taken part in the Chicago version of the fest. Headliners include Cody Jinks (Friday), Jon Pardi (Saturday) and Midland (Sunday). Other twangy artists include Wyatt Flores, Randy Rogers Band, Eli Young Band, Josh Meloy, Dylan Gosset and many more.

Single-day general admission tickets are $68 before fees and are on sale now at the Lone Star Smokeout website. Attendees get access to all the live musical performances, barbecue for purchase and access to multiple bars and concessions with cashless payment options.

Perhaps the most enticing, the ticket also includes all-inclusive food and drinks, from gourmet barbecue to top-notch libations.

The Sunday brunch option must be purchased with the Sunday day pass or the three-day ticket to gain admission. Before fees, the Sunday general admission and barbecue brunch ticket start at $127 and go up in price for various add-on options.

A regular three-day pass is $177 and the platinum version is $1,188, all before fees.
