With more than two dozen stores across North Texas and after years of haggling, Sprouts finally has an opening date for its shiny new store just west of downtown. Today, the Arizona-based grocer announced the store at 1322 N. Hampton Road, south of Interstate 30, will open on June 20.
Sprouts is known for its fresh, organic and natural food selections. The store also offers bulk items and healthy grocery options, focusing on organic and non-GMO products. Regarding price, Sprouts is generally considered comparable to Trader Joe's and more affordable than Whole Foods, as demonstrated in this detailed comparison shopping trip.
The grand opening ceremony is Friday, June 20, at 6:45 a.m.; the doors will officially open at 7 a.m. The celebrations will last through June 22, with various activities, tastings and family events. There's also a "guess the weight" game if you've got an eye for such details.
The first 200 shoppers will receive a free reusable goodie bag filled with special products and samples on Friday and Saturday. The first 400 customers on Friday will get a long-stem rose from Falcon Farms Floral.
Inside the store, there will be tastings at Vendor Village and other weekend giveaways.
According to a store statement, shoppers can receive 20% off their purchase over grand opening weekend if they text KESS to 777-688 and scan their app account barcode at checkout (one per Sprouts account per day, with a maximum discount of $20).
Shoppers can also check out Sprout's weekly ad for more than $100 in digital coupons. Until midnight on June 22, shoppers who sign up on the app via the store page on Sprouts' website have a chance to win a $500 Sprouts gift card.
