The Rangers have been beefing up the food menu ever since introducing the Boomstick in 2012. Each year, the team's concessionaire, Delaware North, tinkers with the menu, trying to take things up a notch — a bat flip to a plain old hot dog.

Recently, the Weiner Rankings League evaluated 30 MLB stadium dogs and, based on some hard data, ranked the Texas Rangers' Boomstick as the fifth best dog in the league. This two-foot-long chili and cheese behemoth costs $26 and is enough to feed a family of seven.

For some local flair, the stadium sports a food court area — Arlington Alley — with a mix of ballpark classics and unique local options, including Prince Lebanese, El Tiempo Cantina (this is actually a Houston-based restaurant), Restaurant 506 and The Sanford House.

In terms of concessions, here are our nine favorite options, ranked.

9. Blue Mint Thai Crazy Drunken Noodles

Stir-fried flat noodles are swimming in a spicy Thai chili sauce with egg, onions, carrots, bell peppers, tomatoes, basil and a choice of protein. Get this at the Blue Mint Thai stand at section 127.

8. The Boomstick Burrito

A 26-inch tortilla packed with rice, beans, taco meat, Rico's Nacho Cheese, pico, lettuce and sour cream. It's a lot of food, so try to be decent about it. Don't wear your favorite white jersey. Available at the Texas 24-inch stand near section 132.

7. Blue Mint Thai Golden Pouches

Why not call these what they are? Crab Rangoon. Anyhooise, for a little change of pace, get these little delicate pouches served with a sweet chili sauce at section 127.

6. Bacon on a Stick

Thick-cut Danish bacon is served crispy and glazed in a Dr Pepper barbecue sauce, on a stick. Let's clap it out: "On-A-Stick! On-A-Stick!" Find these at sections 23, 123 and 230.

5. Cajun Nachos

Say less? Well, just for kicks, tortilla chips are topped with Cajun white queso (we don't even know what this is, but we love it), chicken and sausage gumbo. Find this at sections 112 and 225.

4. Loaded Fries

This is the real reason we go to baseball games: loaded fries. These are waffle fries, preferred for their towing capacity, layered in Rico's Nacho Cheese, chili, pico, sour cream and jalapenos. No, you don't have to share: Kids need to work and buy their own. Get these at sections 124,121 and 230.

3. Hawwt Dawwg Triple Play

This is a trio of dogs served with Lay's chips. You'll get one of each: a chili cheese dog, a bacon-wrapped dog, and then a rotating dog of either the taco or Philly variety. This is what 'Merica tastes like. Again, take your jersey off for this adventure. Available at Abner Double Dawwgs at sections 03, 121 and 225.

2. Hurtado Smoked Wings

If you want to have some fun but also don't love a carb overload, get four whole smoked-kissed wings from Hurtado's, which is a prized local barbecue spot just a couple of miles from Globe Life Field. This is actually excellent food, ballpark or not. Available at section 141.

1. Hurtado Big Papa Potato

Embrace the line here; the game is boring anyway. This large baked potato is stuffed within an inch of its life with butter, cheddar, Hurtado's brisket and topped with Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce. If possible, we might bet the sauce on the side, just a party tip. It's terrible when sauce drowns out a good bite of brisket. Find Hurtado's stand near section 141.
