No need to shove string cheese and corn chips down your pants for the St. Patty’s Day parade this Saturday. The kind folks at Madison Partners will bestow upon throngs of sloppy drunks the St. Patty’s Day Pop Up Food Park.
Trucks from Il Cane Rosso, Nammi, Easy Slider, Trailercakes and Ruthie’s Rolling Cafe will open their windows at 2 p.m. at 2001 Greenville Ave. For those without GPS, it’s right across from the Libertine Bar, and the future site of the Greenville Food Truck Park, according the Easy Slider Truck Facebook page. You should still fill your CamelBak with beer though. That shit is expensive.
Cane Rosso and Nammi have been asking their Facebook pals to join them after the parade via this super-festive, super-green announcement. This comes as good news because one more year of post-parade 7-Eleven dining is unthinkable. We would much rather fill our beer-soaked bellies a fistful of banh mi over a Super Jumbo Bean and Cheese Burrito Bomb cooked in a microwave teeming with MRSA. So avoid a co-pay and those prophylactic parade antibiotics and shove your dollars through the window of your favorite food truck this weekend.
Seriously, please don’t eat a burrito at 7-Eleven. City of Ate cares about you.
