Maurine Dickey’s decided two terms as Dallas County Commissioner is plenty; can’t really blame her. So it’s back to the family business — barbecue, but of course. Which is why, moments ago, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins just sent to media this not-exactly-tear-stained adios in which he wishes the commish all the best in her future endeavors:
“I was informed by Commissioner Maurine Dickey today that she will not be seeking re-election. I respect her decision and honor and appreciate her years of service. I look forward to continuing to work with her on the court through 2012 and wish her the best as she enters a new chapter in her life.”
Which reminds me: It’s time to order my Honey Glazed Easter Ham.
