Almost exactly two years ago, give or take a few weeks, Fort Worth’s historic Ridglea Theater stopped booking shows and shut its doors. It was bound to happen. The theater hadn’t booked a decent show for years before it closed. The Ridglea’s fate was in limbo for the following two years, and was in danger of being demolished until new owner Jerry Shults stepped in to renovate the building. He also worked to get the theater listed in the National Registry of Historic Places.

News came today that AEG is bringing in metal
act Down on Tuesday, September 18, marking their first show under new ownership. Tickets will go on sale at AXS.com
this Friday for $25. Let’s hope the bookings improve pronto. You can
only go up from Down.
