The Save Our Scene posse is in its second week of life and is already keeping its watchful eye on all city matters that affect its home, Deep Ellum. In particular, they attended yesterday’s city council meeting and reported on some of the Deep Ellum news to come out of it, more so than The Dallas Morning News‘ brief mention in yesterday’s edition. SoS reports that the Deep Ellum Task Force “has voted to increase the amount of trees on Main Street” and that security staff will work the city-run Deep Ellum parking lots from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, though details on the source of the funding and timetable for the changes are lacking in the report. The site also reports that DART will hold a press conference on September 15 to discuss, among other things, the plans for the rail gateway that is set to run through the Deep Ellum tunnel.
