About 20 minutes ago, we felt it at the Observer offices in Oak Lawn. Now, the United States Geological survey verifies that the mid-afternoon rumble was, in fact, an earthquake.
According to the USGS, the epicenter of this quake was, as so many have been in the last six weeks or so, in Irving, near the site of the old Texas Stadium. Its 3.5 magnitude is the biggest of the string of Irving quakes that began in late November.
Internet users as far north as Lewisville and as far south as Grand Prairie have reported to the USGS that they felt the tremor.
Dallasites, including Angela Hunt’s husband Paul Sims, are taking this very serious matter seriously.
