Amid the Trader Joe’s and Lululemon and Apple stores that have come to define the area of Knox Street near U.S. 75, Wild About Harry’s remained one of the last bits of Dallas character in the increasingly homogeneous neighborhood. Now, that little bit of character is on its way out.

“Wild About Harrys has been given notice to vacate the Knox Street Store by May 15,” owners posted on Facebook yesterday. “We are actively looking for a new location in the HP area. Please visit our Hall Street store in Deep Ellum. Thank you to everyone for their loyalty and friendship to Harry and staff over the last 22 years, making Knox a great place to home [sic].”

Wild About Harry’s has been on Knox for 20 years, long before uber-trendy retail and pricey restaurants flooded the area. But the neighborhood is changing: Nearby Weir’s Furniture will soon be at the base level of a massive high-rise development. Knox may be the ideal place to buy $120 yoga pants and $500 Apple Watches, but soon, you won’t find much Dallas in this Dallas neighborhood.
