Earlier this week, NXT announced five matches for their NXT: Takeover Dallas event that will take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center the Friday before Wrestlemania. I suppose you can consider it the kickoff event for Wrestlemania Weekend.

For those who don’t know, NXT is considered to be the developmental brand of the WWE even though their roster consists of beloved independent wrestling veterans.

The big match-up for NXT Takeover will feature former champion Sami Zayn against Shinsuke Nakamura, who will be making his NXT in-ring debut at the event. Nakamura is a 14-year veteran of the squared circle and one of the biggest stars from the New Japan wrestling promotion. Many wrestling fans are hailing this match between Zayn and Nakamura as a dream match.

Other matches announced at the taping include the NXT championship match between Samoa Joe and Finn Balor; the NXT Women’s Championship match between Bayley and another Japanese star, Asuka; and a Tag Team Championship match that will pit champions Dash and Dawson up against American Alpha.
