Forbes Travel Guide, formerly the Mobil Travel Guide, has named six Dallas restaurants to its four-star and five-star hospitality ratings for restaurants and hotels.
According to the comprehensive rating system, which uses more than 750 standardized criteria (which is approximately 748 criteria more than Dude Food uses), Dallas is far and away the king of dining cities in Texas, claiming six of the seven four-star restaurants. Neither Fort Worth nor Austin has a single restaurant worthy of the designation, and Houston had but a single four-star restaurant. Only one Texas eatery (Inn at Dos Brisas in Brenham) ranked five stars.
The restaurants to earn four stars are Abacus, Fearing’s, Nana, Stephan Pyles, The French Room and The Mansion.
Stephan Pyles and Abacus’ Kent Rathbun both made City of Ate’s Best Restaurateurs of the ’00’s. Incredibly, however, none of those restaurants made either Dude Food Year In Review list.
