Yesterday morning, the Miami New Times published a piece about hometown barbecue. In the piece, they state that Miami smokes Dallas in barbecue. And basketball.
After a passing out from white-hot rage, writer Alice Laussade woke and wrote up a response. Among other things, Alice called for the Miami New Times, our sister paper, to take a big ol’ smooch of our asses.
No word if Miami’s puckered up, but Alice’s campaign to punch Miami New Times in the nards led to Twitter.
She tweeted the following:
Will you step up to support Dallas Observer this year?
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If the Dallas Observer matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
It caught on. For the remainder of the glorious afternoon, Dallas-Fort Worth tweeps nailed Miami New Times to the wall with one-liners a la Alice. We’re very proud. There were some great jokes for sure (from Observer staffers as well), and after the jump we’re picking our five favorites. Thanks for a fun day of work, everyone.
