St. Vincent is coming home, and fans aren’t the only ones celebrating her return.

Meow Wolf Grapevine partnered with Dallas native St. Vincent, whose real name is Annie Clark, to transform into the ultimate fan club Thursday evening in anticipation of her homecoming concert on April 6.

Every Thursday evening, The Real Unreal shifts gears and becomes the Adulti-Verse: a 21-and-up party with music, drinks and, more often than not, an immersive theme. This week’s theme was dedicated to the multiple Grammy award-winning local music legend.

Playing only hits from Dallas’ sweetheart, Meow Wolf promised to turn into a music video dance party and give attendees, aka travelers, “surreal surprises,” according to a Meow Wolf x St. Vincent Instagram collaboration.

They delivered.

Though The Real Unreal is always colorful, this evening was particularly prismatic thanks to the nonstop loop of St. Vincent music videos playing on the main stage’s big screen.

The stage inside Meow Wolf’s Neon Kingdom was not the only space hosting a music video dance party. Outside of the main gallery, the recently opened Matt King Mystery Center in the lobby was also open for viewing, giving travelers an opportunity to view the multi-purpose area and enjoy the music in a more sensory-friendly space.

Fans showed up for the occasion by wearing concert merch, dancing and singing along to the setlist.

Hits including “Los Ageless,” “Broken Man” and “Pay Your Way in Pain” filled the vibrant gallery. Getting lost in the music was even more enjoyable when paired with getting lost in the exhibit.

No matter how many times you visit Meow Wolf, there’s sure to be something new you didn’t quite catch the first time – not unlike St. Vincent’s lyrics.

The bar also served a themed cocktail named “We Are All Born Screaming” made with bourbon, rum, fireball, cranberry juice, peach syrup and grenadine. Connor Gray, Meow Wolf’s regional public relations manager, described it as “a little bit fiery,” and it was.

The main event was the scavenger hunt that kicked off every half hour. Travelers were tasked with finding a fuzzy pink creature head wearing a cowboy hat, which is more difficult than you’d expect since there are a surprising number of fuzzy pink creatures in the gallery.

Of the “surreal surprises,” the biggest one of the night was what lucky scavengers won by finding the pink fuzzy creature.

Travelers who found the creature were given a goody bag with a St. Vincent vinyl LP, St. Vincent merch and Meow Wolf swag. More important, most of the winners were lucky enough to get tickets to St. Vincent’s concert in Deep Ellum this weekend.

St. Vincent performs at The Factory in Deep Ellum on Sunday, April 6, at 8 p.m. Visit www.thefactoryindeepellum.com for tickets.
