Did you catch Dallas’ invasion of Los Angeles?

On last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Rep. Jasmine Crockett appeared after Will Forte as the talk show’s second interview guest, with BigXthaPlug performing as the musical guest to close the night.

Crockett is the Democratic representative of Texas’ 30th congressional district, which contains most of downtown Dallas and the suburbs south of it, including Duncanville and Lancaster. She’s achieved viral stardom recently, thanks partly to boisterous off-the-cuff exchanges that have generated polarizing reactions on either side.

As expected, she didn’t hold back during her 10-minute timeslot with Kimmel, using the platform to fire shots at several Republican stalwarts.
Crockett joked about Pete Hegseth, the U.S. Secretary of Defense, behind the latest catastrophic leak from the White House.

“We love DUI hires,” she said.

Kimmel played a clip from a Trump rally where the president brings her up unprompted to talk trash, saying that the party is in “serious trouble” if Crockett is their new star. Weeks ago, he called her “low-IQ” and a “lowlife” after she called Gov. Greg Abbott, who is paralyzed from the waist down, “Governor Hot Wheels.”

Upon a setup from Kimmel, Crockett said she would “absolutely” face Trump in an IQ contest.

To close, Kimmel asked Crockett what the Democrats’ message would be moving forward.

“If we focus on really being very cogniscent of our audience and speaking to them in an authentic way,” Crockett said. “I don’t think policy is what we need to be fighting about.”
Next, Kimmel wore a heavy gold chain with a “DTX” pendant as he introduced BigX. The Dallas rapper performed “The Largest” and “Mmhmm” in the latest step of his rapid ascension into the American mainstream.

This performance was far more dressed up than his recent stops at Coachella, Dreamville or Rolling Loud, where he performed with just a DJ and hypeman. For the set on Kimmel, Big X was still backed by a DJ, but with a drummer, bassist, trumpet and trombone players as the supporting cast.
