It’s a national holiday, in case you didn’t know. Aug. 8 is Whataburger’s birthday, and this year, they’re celebrating 75 years in the burger flipping business by reducing the price of its No. 1 classic burger to just 75 cents.
In addition to the inflation-busting burger deal, throughout August, real fans can also score limited edition Whataburger commemorative cups with a special table-tent-inspired design. Then, on Aug. 12, look for another version of the anniversary cup. Play your cards right, and you can have a whole set for Thanksgiving dinner.
Whataburger has recently received criticism for its declining quality after being sold to a new company. People had strong opinions about an article that questioned the quality of the Texas-based burger joint.
Either way, the promotion runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at all Whataburgers in Texas on Aug. 8. You’ll need to download the Whataburger app (which, honestly if you haven’t already started using the app, we’re not sure if you can even take part; with the notoriously slow lines here, the app is the only way to go).

My standard order at Whataburger is a junior burger, double meat, double cheese on a pretzel bun with jalapeno ranch added on. That’s why they put me on the food beat.
