Tejano Mexican Restaurant

If a Mexican restaurant has been doing business in Dallas for more than 20 years, it's doing something right. And while Tejano's Aztec temple-inspired décor could use a touch-up, the food is everything it should be. Standouts include the hearty caldo de res, kind of like a floating pot roast, with huge, tender hunks of beef and cabbage, zucchini and other veggies in a clear beef broth; and the tender carnitas Tampiqueñas, slices of beef in a rich gravy.
