The federal jury in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial has reached its verdict.

He was facing federal charges of two counts of sex trafficking, two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and one count of racketeering. He pleaded not guilty. The 12-member jury—eight men and four women—deliberated for two full days before giving their final verdict on Wednesday, July 2. The day before, jurors agreed on only four of the five counts against Combs but disagreed on the racketeering conspiracy.

According to the Washington Post, the jury acquitted the hip-hop mogul on the most serious charges: sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. He was found guilty on two prostitution-related charges. For both of those counts, he faces a maximum sentence of 10 years for each of them. Federal prosecutors are seeking a maximum of 20 years in total.

The two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution relate to his ex-girlfriends, Cassie Ventura and also “Jane,” who testified under a pseudonym.

The trial was conducted over seven weeks in New York and featured testimony from 34 witnesses. Some of these testimonies were from Cassie and Kid Cudi, who alleged Diddy threatened him and was behind a Molotov cocktail attack that damaged his Porsche after he learned about his relationship with Cassie.

Combs was denied bail after his legal team proposed a bail package that included a one-million-dollar bond, co-signed by Combs, his mother, his sister and the mother of his oldest daughter; travel restrictions to the Southern District of Florida, Central District of California, the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York or the District of New Jersey; surrending his passport; and drug testing.

Kanye West also made a surprise appearance in the courthouse during the trial. He and Diddy's son King Combs made a seven-track EP together called Never Stop, on which West is credited as an executive producer, producer and lyricist. Never Stop features "Lonely Roads," a song with King Combs and North West.
In a leaked conversation, Diddy told West he thanked him for supporting his family while he's behind bars.

“When I see you to your face,” Diddy said. “I’m gonna be able to hug and thank you and show you for the rest of your life how much you appreciated.”

At the time, Diddy encouraged West to get back into making music again and to smile more, which is probably why we got a collab project with him and King Combs. Diddy is one of West's biggest influences after all.
