At Fault, a Dallas-based pickleball complex that recently opened in Farmers Branch, offers five indoor and four outdoor courts, two full-service bars, an outdoor patio area and a 3,600-square-foot restaurant.
Pickleball courts can be rented by the hour. The outdoor court is $30 during peak hours and $25 off-peak. The indoor court is $40 during peak hours and $35 off-peak.
A few pickleball programs are available, including Pickleball 101, which is designed for beginners to learn the rules and basic techniques; Double Fault Fridays, a fun yet serious competition; and open play at various levels, in which players can show up and meet new friends on the courts.
To book a court or program, At Fault has an app for iOS users and an online portal.
The menu, developed by chef John Franke, who also curated cuisines for high-profile restaurants such as Haywire, Whiskey Cake, Ida Claire and Sixty Vines, provides multiple American options, including salad bowls, burgers, sandwiches, steak, tacos and brunch plates.
Some menu items that are good for sharing include nachos, quesadillas, dips and chips, wings and mini Wagyu hot dogs in puff pastry. Sweet snacks such as warm brownies and fried pecan pies are also available.
At Fault has two full bars serving a variety of cocktails, beer, wines (sparkling, whites and reds) and mocktails. Some cocktail highlights are espresso martini, Aperol spritz, mojito and Club Margarita.
The interior is going for a retro yet modern vibe with unique furniture crafted by Dallas-based interior design studio WORKSHOP studio, striking light fixtures by Neon Studio and custom pickleball-inspired murals by local artist Alli K Design.
The spacious dining room seats 150 diners and is separated from the courts by soundproof glass to minimize noise.
The sports bar features a four-screen jumbotron, one of the largest jumbotrons in the DFW area outside of an arena, for crystal-clear visuals and immersive sound.
Each indoor court is equipped with replay technology through PodPlay. A big screen will catch and display the last 15 seconds of action, allowing players and spectators to relive unforgettable moments on the courts. Plus, the replays are instantly sent to the At Fault app so players can share their highlights with friends or analyze their performance anytime.
At Fault is hosting a grand opening this Saturday, Dec. 7, from noon to 8 p.m., with free open play, a live DJ, giveaways, a game showcase by professional players, a mini-game in which players get a chance to partner with a pro and more. For more information, visit the website or social media.
