Keith Lee was a mixed martial arts professional known as Killa before he started dabbling in TikTok videos about five years ago while living in Las Vegas. He took it up a notch in 2021 by posting restaurant reviews. Things took off and his page has 16.8 million subscribers.
Aside from his reviews, Lee uses his influence for good and has been known to give generously to some of the restaurants he visits. Just being featured in a clip can flip a restaurant on its head; oftentimes there are lines around the building the next day. Last year he visited two local spots, Halal Fusionz and Absolutely Edible Cakes and left them a $1,000 and $4,000 tip, respectively. Good for them, good for him. Let's all eat more.
For Valentine's Day, Lee partnered with Lyft and DoorDash for a few recommendations.
Editor's Picks
Lee says he and his wife love The Saint, an Italian steakhouse on the outskirts of Deep Ellum. In a blog post, Lee offers that The Saint is “An Italian fine dining restaurant offering high-end, upscale options for at-home enjoyment. Their beef tallow candle with homemade rolls are binge-worthy.”
Personally, we found the beef tallow candle awkward on a visit. It takes some work (and time) to get the tallow to melt; by the time it does the rolls are no longer warm, which is a bummer. And the tallow-to-rolls ratio is off. But, we had a great time at their Sunday jazz brunch.
Next, Lee suggests Kitchen and Kocktails by Kevin Kelley. Great call. It's one of our Top 100 restaurants. We love the soul food at this high-energy spot downtown. The drinks are over-the-top and a great reason to partake in a Lyft. For sure go here and do this, just make reservations first though.
Breakfast Brothers is a fast-casual locally owned spot in Red Bird with a great all-day breakfast menu, chicken and waffles and lots of boozy cocktails.
Kome in Northeast Dallas is Lee's favorite sushi restaurant, which he describes as quick and fresh. He's partial to the tuna hand roll.
Finally, Lee has discovered Four Sisters, a family-run Vietnamese restaurant in Mansfield (it was originally in Fort Worth). We had quite a memorable meal there a couple of years ago. Lee prefers the bao buns and beef pho.
