If you want to avoid cooking but also don’t want to be that guy with your pants unbuttoned at a restaurant, takeout may be calling your name. Dallas establishments know what your taste buds want, whether it’s a traditional spread or Cajun turkey, miso gravy, Greek skewers or pumpkin pastries.

Big Al's Smokehouse

3317 Inwood Road
Big Al's Smokehouse, which has been open for more than 50 years, serves more than 500 hickory-smoked and Cajun-fired turkeys to 6,000 Dallasites every year. The heat-and-eat holiday feasts come with a bird, traditional sides and from-scratch desserts. You can get a package for four starting at $76, building up to 15 servings starting at $175. Pre-order online and pick-up Monday – Wednesday at the restaurant on Inwood Road.

Buca di Beppo

Dallas, Frisco and Southlake Locations
Buca di Beppo focuses on family-style servings year-round but is trading chicken Alfredo for turkey and mashed potatoes later this month. The Thanksgiving feast can be ordered cold or hot and includes sliced white meat turkey, homestyle gravy, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, spicy Italian sausage stuffing, seasonal vegetables, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Depending on your party size, the spread can feed three ($105), six ($160), 10 ($250) or 20 ($450). Pickup is available Nov. 27 and 28 between 10 am. and 8 p.m. Order online.

The Cajun Turkey Company

Celebrate Thanksgiving the New Orleans way with Cajun turkey, complete dinners or soups and gumbos delivered to your door. Complete heat-and-serve dinners start at $159.95 for a Cajun turkey with mashed potatoes, brown gravy, green bean casserole, broccoli cheese casserole, New Orleans-style bread pudding and 16 ounces of Geaux Juice for zesty Louisiana flavor. The order deadline for this locally owned barbecue purveyor is Nov. 22, but that’s only if they don't sell out before then. Crossbuck BBQ pitmaster Tim McLaughlin is behind the restaurant’s preorder Thanksgiving menu, which includes turkey ($84.99) or ham ($75) but also whole brisket ($299) or smoked prime rib ($199) in true Texas fashion. Sides that serve 10 to 12 people like scalloped and cheesy potatoes ($34.99) or Vermont cheddar mac ‘n’ cheese ($34.99) are also available as are pecan pie ($20.99) and s’mores bread pudding ($26.99). Orders placed online will be available for pickup between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Nov. 25–27.

Evan’s Meat Market

4266 Oak Lawn Ave.
This classic neighborhood butcher shop is accepting preorders through Nov. 22 for Thanksgiving — turkey for $4.50 a pound or about two pounds of smoked beef tenderloin for $145 — and sides like cornbread dressing ($25), yams with marshmallows ($27), scalloped potatoes ($29) and holiday biscuits ($15/dozen). If it’s just you and your plus one, Evan’s will be offering “Thanksgiving for two," which will offer smaller portions of turkey, dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce and ready-made sides in limited quantities, Nov. 22–27. Preorders for Thanksgiving feasts are required through Nov. 22 and can be placed in-store or by calling 972-803-5318. A $50 deposit is required for orders under $500; it's $100 for those over $500.

Gemma and Sachet

4270 Oak Lawn Ave.
Sister restaurants Gemma and Sachet have a holiday mash-up to-go. Order feasts for four or eight with traditional mains (herb-crusted tenderloin, turkey or a vegan squash) along with bistro sides like butternut squash soup, potato gratin with thyme and Gruyere, and wild rice and sage stuffing. The appetizer menu is Gemma's smoked gouda and fig scones. Order online by Monday, Nov. 25, at 10 a.m. and pick up Wednesday at Sachet from 2:30 to 5 p.m.

Honey Baked Ham

Feed 14 to 18 people for $164.99 with Honey Baked Ham’s Thanksgiving array. It includes a bone-in half ham, whole roasted turkey, green bean casserole, country cornbread stuffing and savory gravy. Everything will come fully cooked; the ham is recommended to eat cold and the turkey will be ready after a reheat in the oven. The company is offering a coupon for $10 off any holiday meal picked up on Nov. 24 or 25. Order your meal online for pickup or shipping.

La Casita Bakeshop

580 W. Arapaho Road, Richardson
The lovely local James-Beard-nominated bakery has it all for Turkey Day — they go all out. Order your turkey, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, sourdough dressing, gravy, dinner rolls and pie to feed either 5 to 6 ($225) or 10 to 12 people ($400). A la carte options include quiche, pies like brown butter and apple, and festive pastries like apple cider cake donuts and pecan caramel monkey bread. The full spread is available only at the Richardson store, but Northwest Highway visitors can still grab pies, breads and pastries. Pre-order online by noon Nov. 23.

Loop 9 BBQ

2961 S. State Highway 161, Grand Prairie
Chili's founder, Larry Levine, opened Loop 9 BBQ at The Epic in Grand Prairie a couple of years ago. The pit crew here will handle the hassle of the holiday with their smoked turkey ($105). They’re also serving up a Texas whiskey pecan pie ($40) and sides starting at $8 a pint, like potato salad, Mexican corn, borracha beans and coleslaw. Orders may be placed online until Nov. 24.

Loro

1499 Montford Drive, Addison
The Asian smokehouse’s Thanksgiving dinner package is $190 and includes kale and apple salad, confit marble potatoes, toasted brioche stuffing, creamed spinach and arugula, post oak smoked turkey, smoked apricot chutney, turkey and sage gravy with miso and yuzu and peach cobbler with five-spiced mascarpone. The package may be ordered online and is available for pickup Nov. 26 or 27.

Luckys Cafe

3531 Oak Lawn Ave.
The comfort food diner, which leans on locally sourced ingredients, aims to take care of the side dishes for your Thanksgiving feast. It’s offering apple pies for $15.99, pints of vegetables for $6.79 and cranberry sauce for $7.79. Orders must be placed by Friday, Nov. 22, and will be ready for pickup Nov. 27. Can’t wait? The diner is celebrating Thanksgiving early by offering a single-serve Thanksgiving platter with turkey, dressing, two side dishes and cranberry sauce ($18.99) from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31 (dine-in not available Thanksgiving Day). Nikki Greek Bistro & Lounge

Skip the turkey with Nikki’s Greek-inspired Thanksgiving menu. The two main course options are souvlaki skewers (chicken for $54 or shrimp for $69) served with warm pita, citrus rice and tzatziki sauce, and Moussaka Georgalis ($65), which comes with traditional moussaka, Texas-raised beef, roasted eggplant and potatoes topped with bechamel. Oak Cliff Bread

Thanksgiving isn’t complete without a good carb load. Locally owned Oak Cliff Bread offers cinnamon rolls ($15), cranberry and walnut sourdough ($13), brioche dinner rolls ($10) and country sourdough ($10) that will be available for pickup the day before Thanksgiving. Dinner rolls and cinnamon rolls are sold by the pan ready for reheating, but if you’re feeling ambitious, you can pick them up frozen to thaw and bake yourself. Preorder is available online.

One90 Smoked Meats

1240 E. Northwest Highway
One90 Smoked Meats is a butcher-like counter service space that has been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. They serve Southern barbecue classics and sides. Get your turkey — whole for $99 or breast for $65 — or spiral sliced ham ($99), brisket (whole for $200; half for $110), beef tenderloin ($130), prime rib ($250) or a whole salmon filet ($135) for those looking for a non-turkey protein source. When ordering online, specify your preferred pick-up date/time. Shipping is also an option for orders received by Nov. 18.

Po Melvin’s

4070 N. Belt Line Road, Irving
For a little French Quarter charm, head to Po Melvin’s in Irving, a favorite in the area for 30 years. They're serving meals for six ($129) or 20 ($399) consisting of a whole roasted turkey, traditional sage dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, turkey gravy, green bean or broccoli cheese casserole, cranberry sauce and dinner rolls. Orders can be placed online and must be picked up by Wednesday, Nov. 27. They’ll be cold and will come with reheating instructions.

Whiskey Cake

3601 Dallas Parkway, Plano
Whiskey Cake encourages its customers to “trade the apron for a cocktail” and let its team handle the cooking. A $120 holiday kit serves four and includes herb-roasted turkey breast, brown butter sage gravy, orange-cranberry chutney, braised rainbow chard, caramelized heirloom carrots, roasted garlic mashed potatoes and Parker House rolls with whipped brown butter. Add-ons can include smoked gouda mac and cheese and naturally, whiskey cakes. Preorders are available online, and order pickup is Nov. 26 or 27.

Whole Foods

For the last-minute crowd, the bougie grocery retailer is accepting Thanksgiving orders until Nov. 26 that can be picked up as late as Thanksgiving Day. Its self-proclaimed must-haves include a classic roast whole turkey meal for four ($99.99), a classic roast whole turkey meal for 12 ($239.99) or a prime rib meal for eight ($259.99). Among other offerings are beef Wellington ($109.99), forbidden rice bread and butter ($11.99) and a stuffed shellfish trio ($46.99). Orders can be placed online through the catering portal, and Whole Foods is offering a “buy any Thanksgiving meal, get 20% off an appetizer” special.
