It’s that time of year again, folks: No, not time for school and no, not time for football season. (Well, both of those, too.) It’s time for the Dallas Observer‘s annual Best Of Dallas© issue, which rolls out this year on September 24. This year’s issue celebrates the 20th anniversary of the movie Clueless, which is a sincere tribute and not a reference to what some online commenters try to accuse us of being. (It burns, doesn’t it?)

Speaking of our readers, we need your help. We may come up with top 10 lists highlighting some of favorites things about Dallas on a weekly basis (though never too many), but when the Best Of issue rolls around several of the categories include a vote from our readers — including a healthy dose of the Arts & Entertainment categories that fit right in in the music section. If you’d like a chance to pick favorites, by all means, click your way over to the Readers Poll page.

Voting for the Best Of Dallas issue continues for another two weeks, until Sunday, September 6. That means two weeks to fulfill civic duty: to vote early and vote often.

The nominees for the Readers Poll were selected by readers like yourself. Here’s a rundown of nominees from some of the categories that should be most familiar to regular readers of the music section, although in total there are 96 categories that you can cast a vote for:
