Mesero Miguel

If you liked Mr. Mesero, chances are you’ll enjoy a meal at Mesero Miguel, the second restaurant from Mico Rodriguez on Henderson Avenue. Rodriguez took over the space that once held Alma, and tweaked his menu from Mr. Mesero to include a variety of dishes beyond his traditional Mexican menu. The restaurant works best when it conforms to Mexican cooking. Brisket tacos, guacamole, nachos and other classics are good deals that are sure to satisfy. Dishes that stray become more risky, sometimes satisfying and sometimes missing on execution and ultimately disappointing. Don’t miss the braised pork served with mushrooms and dressed in a zigzag of cilantro cream. Choose the flour tortillas over the corn, which are greasy and roll up a porky cigar. That’s good eating.
