Something, the new LP from Brooklyn duo Chairlift, sounds more energized than 2008's Does You Inspire You, mixing a bit more funk, pop and psych into their '80s synth palette. No doubt the four years between albums gave them a little artistic kick and room to experiment. That era's excesses are amplified by L.A.'s Ramona Gonzalez, aka Nite Jewel, who sews electronic sounds with nostalgic pop hems on new Secretly Canadian album One Second of Love.
