Pink
Friday, February 22, at American Airlines Center, $39.50
I get the appeal of Britney,
Christina and Gaga, but Pink has always been the bad girl of the
current run of massive pop singers. Nevertheless, she's carved out a
niche for herself, and this show will likely sell out.

The Hood Internet
Sunday, September 30, at Dada, $12/$15
If
it weren't for Girl Talk, The Hood Internet would be kings of the
mash-up. But while Girl Talk grabs the low hanging fruit of pop music,
The Hood Internet takes a rock approach. Check them out at Dada
next weekend and be prepared to dance.
Those Darlins added to Bryan Street Tavern's Anniversary Party
Saturday, October 6, at Bryan Street Tavern, Free
We've
mentioned this party before, because its free and it's right down the
street from our house, but the recent addition of Those Darlins to the
bill makes it worth another mention.
Lower Dens
Tuesday, October 16, at Dada, $11/$14
"Lower
Dens is coming in October," I exclaimed to the office. "Weren't they
just here?" came the response. Well, yes, but this will
still be a cool show.
Woods, Widowspeak
Thursday, October 25, at Dada, $11/$13
Folk
rock act Woods is remarkably consistent with their releases. And, from what I've heard, the band's
live show is equally engaging.
Taj Mahal
Thursday, November 8, at Dallas City Performance Hall
The
blues genre has had some heroes in the last half century, but few have
stretched the genre the way Taj Mahal has. Head to the Dallas City
Performance Hall, which had its grand opening last weekend, and watch him blend the blues with various forms of
world music.
VHS or Beta
Thursday, November 15, at The Kessler Theater, Free
It's
rare for The Kessler to bring in a show that might actually turn into a wild dance party. They've teamed up with A.V. Club and Killian's
Irish Red to bring you this show for free, which is awful nice.
Unsilent Night w/ Steve Aoki
Saturday, December 1, at Centennial Hall at Fair Park, $45
The
emo crowd is growing up and expanding their musical tastes beyond
angsty teen bands. Now, they like Steve Aoki. Unsilent Night, now in its
fifth year, has its biggest lineup ever.
Neil Hamburger, Tim Heidecker
Friday, January 11, at The Texas Theatre
I've
never seen someone rage against Hellman's Mayonnaise, Taco Bell and Axe
the way Neil Hamburger does on Twitter.
Can't wait to see what he says about KFC in person.Tim Heidecker, of Tim & Eric fame, joins him.
Lady Gaga
