Hundreds walked through the doors of Oak Cliff’s Country Burger to celebrate the legacy of the “Queen of Tejano,” Selena Quintanilla-Perez, on Saturday, March 25. For moments crowding from wall to wall with burger-eating patrons and cumbia-dancing Selena fans, the celebration marked the 4th anniversary at Country Burger for the event and the 22-year of the singer's death at the hands of then fan club president Yolanda Saldivar.

The tribute, under the name “Selena / Fotos y Recuerdos” after the Selena song meaning “photos and memories,” included lowriders in the parking lot, an art show, vendors selling Selena shirts and art, a mural unveiling by Arturo Donjuan and Ponchaveli Studios, and a Selena talent contest where 6-year-old Azlie Garcia took home the big prize.

Selena Quintanilla already conquered the Latin charts and was prepared to do the same in mainstream music when a stalker killed her on March 31, 1995. This year Country Burger celebrated Selena with a mural dedicated to her by Dallas graffiti artists Arturo DonJuan and Theo Ponchaveli.
