With the international pop star and fashionista known as Rihanna currently being found glitzing up the cover of the April issue of Vogue, and stopping through Dallas for a gig at the American Airlines Center on July 8, we here at DC9 figured it high time to give the performer’s career a much-needed retrospective.

Lest anyone’s forgotten, Rihanna’s been at the forefront of the pop music landscape for the better part of a decade now, starting with the release of her 2005, gold-certified Music of the Sun album and its lead single, “Pon de Replay.” Musically, her style has changed plenty since the now-23-year-old Barbadian burst onto the scene with her then-dancehall-indebted sound. These days, she’s grown into more of an electro-pop diva, and her most recent, fifth album, Loud, released just this past November, has already gone platinum.

Yes, she’s changed plenty over the years — and as much with her fashion choices as with her sound.

So, on that note, let’s hit the jump and recall 10 stellar
Rihanna looks, paired with some of our favorite Rihanna remixes, mash-ups
and covers.
