The dance floor is coming alive again this summer.

Madonna has announced her long-rumored project, Veronica Electronica, will be released on July 25. Veronica Electronica was meant to be an eight-track companion album of remixes to 1998's Ray of Light. She gave further details on her alter ego on her Instagram Stories:
"Making my Ray of Light album was a seminal moment in my life as an artist. I was going through a huge metamorphosis. I have just given birth to my daughter Lola, I had found my spiritual path and I was ready to shed a new skin and take a road less traveled by. I ventured into electronic music with William Orbit and I created an alter ego, taking one of my middle names—and Veronica Electronica was born. Meet my other half."
Veronica Electronica was ultimately shelved when Ray of Light became an unexpected success. The album sold over 16 million copies worldwide and earned the pop icon four Grammy Awards, including Best Pop Album. Ray of Light came before Britney Spears shifted the pop landscape with "Baby One More Time," catalyzing a number of young women like Christina Aguilera and Mandy Moore to run the charts with coy love songs. Madonna was taking us through a journey of self-realization and wondering what's next on Ray of Light. It was a breathtaking departure from her previous albums as her foray into electronica through contemplative songwriting was met with critical praise.

More than 25 years later, Veronica Electronica is real and it is coming. Madonna is releasing a vinyl through the Silver Collection, a series of collectible, limited-edition silver vinyl reissues of her catalog. Vinyl orders from Madonna.com and Rhino.com will include an exclusive silver mylar lithograph.

Veronica Electronica will have newly edited versions of club remixes by Peter Rauhofer, William Orbit, Sasha, BT and Victor Calderone, along with the original demo of “Gone, Gone, Gone,” a previously unreleased recording produced by Madonna and Rick Nowels.

We love Madge at The Observer, catching her on the Celebration Tour last year. “I don’t make disposable art,” she said at that time. She also brought out Erykah Badu at one of her shows.

Just like we are, PriMadonna is probably excited about this too.
