What a morning. I woke up with a bitter taste in my mouth. But then I brushed my teeth.
Wait a minute. Couple months ago, I was excited about seeing Bill back in the White House. Now I'm pissed. Is this a Clinton problem or a personal problem?
But I do have to tell you: The magic at my particular polling place last night was all Obama. Well, of course, my wife thought it was all Hillary. But she was just wrong, wrong, wrong.
The whole experience -- seeing all those people lined up to vote, especially the young people -- was so uplifting. I didn't even mind letting the Republicans vote. In fact, we may have less trouble than I had anticipated after the general election in November, when we begin the process of Republican Political Re-education. Many of them may actually enjoy farm life.
Oh, and we never made it to our Park Cities party. Apparently the party ended as soon as Huckabee conceded. Huckabee? Are you serious? The guy who doesn’t believe in evolution?
Oh, boy. If the Democrats can just avoid devouring their own young, this will be so sweet.
This may be the second time I vote for an African-American candidate for the presidency. Last time was 40 years ago -- a throwaway sure, not like this time around, not at all. Trying to remember why. Oh, yeah. The Democrats had just devoured their own young in Chicago. --Jim Schutze
