You know, this seldom happens, but I can say without a doubt that I have every single one of these artists in my iPod. Maybe I’ll make it into a playlist. This’d be a good playlist, right?

Either way, here are your top show announcements this week, and if you’re like me, you’re flabbergasted by the fact that THE BACKSTREET BOYS ARE COMING!

Don’t hate. Just scroll down. You’ll probably find something you like.

Backstreet Boys, DJ Pauly D
Friday, August 30, at Verizon Theatre, $36.50-$99.50

On top of embarking on their first tour in more than a decade, all five of the original members of Backstreet Boys will be dropping a new album — yes you heard right — called In A World Like This, on July 30. Whaaaat?

Sarah Jaffe
Friday, May 24, at Levitt Pavilion, Free

Who doesn’t like a free stuff? If it isn’t storming this weekend, head to Arlington for a special “Under the Stars” show with Jaffe.

LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Public Enemy, De La Soul, DJ Chuck Chillout
Monday, July 1, at Verizon Theatre, $39.50-$59.50

It’s been 25 years since LL Cool J arrived to the rap scene, but 2013 will see him off to tour — this time with rapper-turned-actor Ice Cube, Public Enemy and De La Soul — after releasing his 13th album, Exit 13, which apparently mixes a combo of in-your-face aggression with LL’s classic sex jams.

Cold War Kids
Friday, August 23, at South Side Music Hall, $22/$25

They have more songs than just “Hang Me Up To Dry.” I promise.

Steely Dan
Saturday, August 31, at Verizon Theatre, $39.50-$99.50

Steely Dan have been making albums since 1972, so by now you should know if you’re going to Verizon to see them this summer.

Jonny Lang
Sunday, October 20, at House of Blues, $35-$85

Grammy award winning blues and gospel guitarist Jonny Lang can easily hold his own against some 40-year blues veterans.

Keep up with DC9 at Night on Twitter or Facebook.
