The term “royal watcher” conjures up an image of a proper blue-haired lady with a chipper British accent and a doily collection dating back to the 1950s. It’s probably not the way you’d want to spend your Friday night, unless you prefer tea and scones to beer and pizza. But the good ladies of Viva Dallas Burlesque put tassels and glitter on the term, taking “royal watching” from Tetley’s to titillating in a flash during their “Burlesque Royalty” event at the Lakewood Theater, 1825 Abrams Road, at 8 p.m. Friday. Emcee Violet O’Hara hosts the evening, as the queens of burlesque bring you to your knees. Pay your respects to the monarchy of movers and shakers including Iris Le’Mour, Miss Malicious, Ruby Joule, Coco Lectric, Angi B Lovely, Blaze and Donna Denise. General admission tickets are $20, $33 for table seating and $175 for a four-top. Get ’em in advance at lakewoodtheater.com.
