Everything's Home-Growing

With more than 700 vendors, the Dallas Home & Garden Show is a little less "show" and a little more "every damn thing you'll ever need for a home expo." Sweet Hercules, that's a lot of vendors. If it continues to expand, they'll have to hold it on the moon...

Help us weather the uncertain future

We know — the economic times are hard. We believe that our work of reporting on the critical stories unfolding right now is more important than ever.

We need to raise $6,000 to meet our goal by August 10. If you’re able to make a contribution of any amount, your dollars will make an immediate difference in helping ensure the future of local journalism in Dallas. Thanks for reading the Dallas Observer.

With more than 700 vendors, the Dallas Home & Garden Show is a little less "show" and a little more "every damn thing you'll ever need for a home expo." Sweet Hercules, that's a lot of vendors. If it continues to expand, they'll have to hold it on the moon so go this year while it's still on Earth and you don't have to wear a special suit. While you're there you'll get to check out the latest in home, gardening (including cool gnomes), remodeling (fix-it's that are better than duct tape), home decor and more. But seriously, I'm only going for the home decor stuff, right? Like I'm not showing up to be dazzled by innovative grub worm repellent. If the garden demos are as cool as last year's, then I'm going home with two bags, and I'm a renter. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Dallas Market Hall. Tickets are $9.50 for adults, $8.50 for seniors and free for kids 14 and younger. Purchase tickets and learn more at texashomeandgarden.com.
Sat., Sept. 10, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sun., Sept. 11, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., 2011
