Mark Orvik

Anyone who normally can’t enjoy Dallas improv comedy troupe Section 8’s weekly Tuesday-night show is in luck this week -- even if it’s at the expense of one of the comedians. The troupe is having an extra show tonight to help out one of its founding members. Mark Orvik was recently hospitalized with what the group is delicately calling “serious gastrointestinal problems.” He’s out of the hospital, but is stuck with some huge medical bills. Seems improv comedy is a career that doesn’t always offer medical insurance.

All proceeds from tonight’s bonus show at the Dallas Ozona Grill and Bar will go toward Orvik’s medical expenses. The show starts at 9 p.m., and admission is 10 bucks. Make Dave Little proud of ya. --Jesse Hughey
